IN an e-mail barely held together grammatically and badly spelt, Indian Mujahideen - the newbie terror outfit which has claimed responsibility for Ahmedabad's serial blasts - has issued death threats to Bollywood's Muslim actors. In the open letter sent to inboxes of India's leading media houses on Sunday morning, the organisation urged the stars to stop acting in movies immediately or "we are ready for order to kill you".
The mail also threatens to kill the actors' families. "Today is only sample but our next is Muslim film star," read the mail.
Among Muslim actors in Bollywood are the four Khans - Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman and Saif - just on whom Rs 400 crore ride at this moment. Pahlaj Nihalani, president of Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP), said, "Our industry is like a family where we do not believe in religion.
I can assure you that there is no panic here. As for the warning, we are unshaken.
" "It is all nothing but some conspiracy and bollywood is supposedly the next target. I only hope and request that law should take the step to curb this chaos.
There should also be more security around cinema halls as that is becoming the easy target," added Nihalani. The Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) head Mukesh Ambani too has been threatened for the 27-storeyed mansion he has been building.
"We also alert Mukesh Ambani to think twice before usurping and building a citadel on a land in Mumbai that belongs to the Waqf Board, lest it turns into horrifying memories for you which you will never ever forget," read the mail. Mumbai Police Commissioner Hasan Gafoor, however, was characteristically calm.
"Such mails should not worry citizens in Mumbai. We have taken enough precautions, not just for the stars, but for the common man as well," he said.
Since Friday's Bangalore blasts, the Mumbai police have been combing hotels and lodges across the city for suspects. The department's informer network has also been activated at cinema houses, malls, restaurants and shrines.

Britney Spears is working on a new album, her label said on Wednesday, as the U.S. pop star seeks to rebound from a period of troubling behavior and hospital stints for psychiatric evaluations.Spears, 26, has spent much of the past 18 months in the headlines for an ugly divorce, losing custody of her two sons, rehab treatment, and erratic behavior like shaving her head and attacking a photographer's car with an umbrella.
But in the past six months Spears father Jamie has taken over management of her personal and business affairs and she has also been mentioned as a possible Emmy award nominee for two guest appearances on U.S. television series "How I Met Your Mother."
Now her manager, Larry Rudolph, and label, Jive Records, said in a statement that Spears, one of the world's most successful pop stars of the early 2000s, "is spending her summer in the recording studio, working on a brand new album."
"She's working with a team of top-notch producers and songwriters and we're very excited about what she's accomplished so far. No album release date has been confirmed yet," the statement said. Spear's last album, "Blackout," debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 last November, but quickly slid down the chart. Spears and her former backup dancer Kevin Federline, 30, were divorced last summer after two years of marriage. The couple have two children together, Sean Preston, 2-1/2, and James Jayden, 22 months, and have started mediation sessions to work out custody and avoid a trial set for August.

Rolling Stone Ron Wood has returned to a rehab center in his long-standing battle with alcoholism. A rep for the musician said in a statement: "Following Ronnie's continued battle with alcohol, he has entered a period of rehab. His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery."
The guitarist, 61, left Ireland on Tuesday where he had reportedly been messed up on a drinking binge with 19-year-old Russian waitress, Ekaterina Ivanova, and is believed to have headed straight to a rehab clinic.
Immediately prior to the rock star's entering rehab, a friend of the Wood family told : "He's drinking two bottles of vodka a day and is obviously on some kind of bender, hanging out with this girl."
Asked whether there was an affair with Ivanova, the source said that it was Wood's sobriety that his friends and family are dealing with in the short term.
"He's had a reputation as a hell-raiser and a drunk, but never a philanderer," the friend added.
Wood last checked himself into a rehab facility last month, just days before his daughter Leah Wood's wedding.

Even the most hardened celebrity watchers were taken aback by reports of an $11 million deal for exclusive rights to the first photographs of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's newborn twins.
Despite Hollywood duo "Brangelina" being one of the world's most famous couples, experts said it would be almost impossible to make back the money through increased sales and advertising.
But winning a bidding war boosts a magazine's profile, they added, and deals a blow to rivals in the fiercely competitive celebrity news world.
"This would be a world record and is an unbelievable amount of money to pay," said Darryn Lyons, who runs the London-based Big Pictures celebrity photograph agency. Abe Peck, who was a long-time chair of the magazine programme at U.S. journalism school Medill, described the reported deal as "verging toward the unthinkable".
The costs could be offset by selling secondary rights outside the U.S. market, for example, and owning images allows for follow-up stories quoting "friends" and "sources".
However, "if that price is accurate, it likely would become a loss leader for whoever bought it," Peck added. "The big celebrity magazines might be willing to lose money in order to establish or maintain A-list primacy." Lyons said rather than dampening enthusiasm among paparazzi in France seeking unauthorised images of the couple and their babies, the exclusive deal may actually heighten it. "If the official pictures are worth, say, $15 million, I would say that paparazzi would be in for $5 million to $10 million on the open market. I know teams that are working in France at the moment and more paps are flying in."

"Batman" sequel Director 'nervous' about "The Dark Knight"

When Chris Nolan took on the job of directing "The Dark Knight," the highly anticipated sequel to his 2005 box office smash "Batman Begins," he knew what he was getting into. After all, he'd done it before.Still, British director Nolan admitted to being "nervous" when he set about making another Batman movie because he knew "The Dark Knight," which debuts in U.S. theaters on Friday, needed to take audiences to places they hadn't been in "Batman Begins," which raked in $372 million at global box offices.
Making a crowd-pleasing Batman film is even more difficult because the comic book icon has been immortalized in TV and movies many times before, including the film series that began with 1989's "Batman" and ended with 1997's critically panned "Batman & Robin," which just about killed off the franchise until Nolan came along with "Batman Begins."
"There are very, very few good sequels, I think," he said. "The two I always had in mind, that we were aspiring to be, were "The Godfather II" and "The Empire Strikes Back," the 1980 follow-up to the first, smash hit "Star Wars" movie.
"Other than those, are pretty thin on the ground," he added.
Fortunately for Nolan and the Warner Bros. movie studio, it appears he may have landed on terra firma with "Dark Knight," which has earned strong early reviews in part due to the performance of Heath Ledger as Batman's nemesis, the Joker.
Nolan said the trick to making a good sequel is staying true to the tone of the original film, but at the same time offering audiences something fresh and exciting.
"For instance, right from the start, I wanted this growing feeling about Batman -- that what he's doing isn't working and it's being misinterpreted by the people of Gotham," he said. "I also wanted to make it more expansive and just push it further in all directions.

Coldplay "VIVA" album racks up fifth week at No.1

Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" racked up a fifth week as Britain's number one album, the Official UK Charts Company said.
The year's fastest-selling album with over the counter sales of more than 600,000 since its release in June, Coldplay proved too strong for two non-movers Welsh singer Duffy's "Rockferry" and R&B singer Chris Brown's "Exclusive".
With Coldplay due to launch their North American tour in Los Angeles on July 14, "Viva La Vida" has also been the number one selling album in 35 other countries around the world.
Elsewhere in the UK album charts, indie duo Ting Tings and "We Started Nothing" climbed two spots to four, new entry Black Kids and "Partie Traumatic" came in five, and Beck's "Modern Guilt" was the top 10's only other new record, entering at nine.
In the singles chart British hip-hop star Dizzee Rascal held on to top spot with "Dance wiv Me" as Swedish musician and DJ Basshunter climbed one to two with "All I ever Wanted".

World's Oldest Blogger Dies at 108

A 108-year-old Australian woman who was promoted as the world's oldest blogger has died two weeks after making her last post about "singing a happy song," her great-grand son and her online forum said.Olive Riley wrote 74 entries in her blogs, firstly http://www.allaboutolive.com.au/ and later http://worldsoldestblogger.blogspot.com/. A friend introduced Riley to blogging early in 2007, and was hooked.
Riley "passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12," a posting on her Web site said. No cause of death was given. "She will be mourned by thousands of Internet friends and hundreds of descendants and other relatives."
She entered a nursing home in Woy Woy, 50 miles north of Sydney, last month, from where she blogged about having a bad cough and feeling weak.
In her last entry, on June 26, Riley thanked supporters for "a whole swag of e-mails and comments from my Internet friends" and described meeting a new friend in the bed next to her."She and I sang a happy song, as I do every day, and before long we were joined by several nurses, who sang along too. It was quite a concert!" she posted.
Great-grandson Darren Stone said Riley loved being able to stay in touch with correspondents all over the world and said she believed it kept her mind active.
"It was mind blowing to her," Stone said. "She had people communicating with her from as far away as Russia and America on a continual basis, not just once in a while."
Born in the remote mining town of Broken Hill in 1899, Riley blogged regularly in the last year of her life about growing up in the Outback, raising three children and working as a farm cook and bartender earlier in her life.

Paris Hilton shatters Nicole Richie's peaceful life!!

Nicole Richie reportedly isn't too happy about best friend Paris Hilton moving into her neighbourhood.
Richie and her baby's father Joel Madden, of the band Good Charlotte, had moved to Glendale to escape the publicity that was hounding them.
But when Hilton and Benji Madden moved in next door to Richie, all the peace and quiet that they had been enjoying was disrupted.
Hilton, who enjoys being in the limelight, has the gossipmongers coming over and disrupting the serenity of the place - and Richie's not pleased.
"Nicole moved out there to get away from the paparazzi, but when Paris calls them, they come to her quiet street and disrupt everything. She's getting a little fed up," says Nicole.

Jessica Simpson has sparked rumours that she too may be expecting after being with a 'baby bump' on her 28th birthday party in Sherman Oaks, California.
Jessica, who celebrated her birthday with her beau Tony Romo sporting a free flowing short sleeved, looking curvier than everwhich she was trying to hide with a grey jumper, reports news.She also kept holding a grey jumper in front of her stomach, as if she was trying to hide something," an onlooker revealed.
If the reports are true, then Jessica's parents will become grandparents twice over, what with younger daughter Ashlee Simpson also expecting her first child with hubby Pete Wentz. So lots of good news to her family!!

Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas married!!

Black Eyed Peas rapper Taboo and fiancé Jaymie Dizon were married on Saturday, their rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Taboo (real name is Jaime Gomez) and Dizon were married at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Pasadena, Calif., Erin Calhoun-Dulaney says, two days before the rapper's 33rd birthday.
Guests included the groom's Black Eyed Peas bandmates william, Apl de ap as groomsmen, and Fergie, accompanied by fiancé Josh Duhamel. Best man was his childhood friend and manager Polo Molina.
The couple wore his and hers diamond and platinum bands, and she has a platinum and diamond engagement sparkler by Neil Lane.
next plans for Taboo is a solo album to be released later this year, and a role in the film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.

Josh Brolin,Jeffrey Wright n other film crew arrested

Actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, along with members of a crew filming an Oliver Stone movie, were arrested during a bar fight Saturday morning, police said.
Shreveport police Sgt. Willie Lewis said Brolin, Wright and five others were arrested just after 2 a.m. at a club called the Stray Cat bar.A call to deal with a rowdy patron drew interference from other patrons, Lewis said. The Times of Shreveport reported that Brolin was booked and posted $334 cash bond to be released.
Police could not say Saturday night whether he or the others had been released. The paper said they are part of the crew on an Oliver Stone film, "W," about President George W. Bush.
A call to Brolin's publicist was not immediately returned Saturday night. "W'' began filming in May in Shreveport.
Brolin plays President Bush and Wright plays former Secretary of State Colin Powell. The cast also includes Elizabeth Banks as first lady Laura Bush, Ellen Burstyn and James Cromwell as the elder Bushes and Thandie Newton as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Brolin appeared in three films last year, "In the Valley of Elah," ''American Gangster" and "No Country for Old Men," which won the best-picture Oscar. Wright won a Tony Award for "Angels in America" on Broadway and a Golden Globe for the same role in the television miniseries.
He also has appeared in "Syriana," ''Ali" and "Casino Royale." "W'' is Stone's third presidential film, following "Nixon" and "JFK." He also directed the Vietnam sagas "Born on the Fourth of July" and "Platoon," which won four Oscars including best picture and director.
The Academy Award-winning director only began shopping his script for financing in January, but has quickly captured the interest of investors and Hollywood. Stone has said the film, which will focus on the life and presidency of Bush, won't be an anti-Bush polemic, but, as he told Daily Variety, "a fair, true portrait of the man.

Will Smith is the most dependable actor in Hollywood right now. His latest hit 'Hancock' has topped the box office to give Smith his 12th No.1 film. He now has eight straight movies topping the $100-million mark. Smith is a true global superstar, but he had a humble beginning and his career arc is the stuff of dreams. Smith has conquered the music business, TV and now movies.
Smith began his showbiz career as a musician. His first single with his partner DJ Jazzy Jeff. 'Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble' launched his fame as it served as a more wholesome alternative to the more rampant Gangsta Rap in the late 1980s.
His debut album 'Rock the House' made him a millionaire when he was just 18. A few years later he won his first Grammy. But it was in 1997 when Smith went solo that he established himself as a rap star. The album was 'Big Willie Style' and it spawned his biggest hit to date, 'Gettin'Jiggy Wit It'.

Even in 'I Am Legend' where he was onscreen alone for most of the time, he has enough gravitas to capture audiences' attention.
Though his first hit was 'Bad Boys', it was in 'Independence day' that he showed the first true signs of his coming superstardom. He followed this up with the hugely successful 'Men in Black' playing veteran actor Tommy Lee Jones' sidekick.

He had reportedly turned down the role eight times citing the impossibility of anyone truly capturing the essence of the boxing legend Muhammad Ali's personality. It took Ali calling up Smith himself to finally convince him to tackle the job. He was rewarded with an Oscar nomination.
He followed up his success as a dramatic star to take in roles in the action movie 'I, Robot', the animated movie 'Shark Tale' and the romantic comedy 'Hitch'. It was with 'Hitch' that he could be deservingly crowned the box office king.
He then took another off turn and starred in the drama 'The Pursuit of Happyness', for which he earned his second Oscar nomination. This movie was extra special for him because his real life son Jaden starred as his onscreen son. He later went on to score another hit with 'I Am Legend' with his latest 'Hancock' slowly also becoming an international hit.
Everything Smith touches turns to gold. He is a beloved star and his personal life is clean and wholesome. But his true secret of success is his work ethic, as he himself said, 'While the other guy's sleeping, I'm working. While the other guy's eating, I'm working. While the other guy's making love, I mean, I'm making love, too, but I'm working really hard at it!'
His status seems nowhere close to waning and we can be sure he will return with more hits in the future.
